Young people and volunteers crowd around the computer at our Youth Centre. What we doSAFY enables deprived young people in Uganda to fight HIV/AIDS and fulfil their potential. We support young people aged between 10 and 24 who are living in Kitamanyangamba slum and neighbouring communities in Kampala. Our activities provide practical, lasting solutions for deprived young people. Everyone involved in each project has a say in how things work. You can help - please, make a donation today Our achievementsWe have established a Youth Club Network that has enabled us to reach young people throughout the community. We have recruited and trained young community leaders to help run our activities and to act as Peer Educators. We provide vocational training to help young people find jobs. We recently received generous donations from the supporters of our UK partner, Stand Up For Africa. The gifts have paid for a set of reconditioned computers, which means we can offer computer skills training, giving young people a better chance of finding work. Through our Safe Alternatives Project, we encourage young people to stay healthy and out of trouble by getting involved in recreational activities at our Centre. We recently received generous donations from the supporters of our UK partner, Stand Up For Africa, which funded games and sports equipment. |
