SAFY's current Youth Centre is small and cramped. Help, we desperately need more space!

Youth Drop-In Centre

Our Youth Drop-In Centre supports deprived young people living in Kitamanyangamba slum in Kampala, Uganda.

Young people in our community live in squalor, with little education or health care, and few job prospects. They are at risk of getting involved in drugs or crime, and of contracting HIV/AIDS. Their future is bleak.

You can make a difference

We run all our activities from our Youth Centre in Kitamanyangamba slum. But the Centre is barely big enough to store our equipment. Many of our activities, such as youth group meetings, take place outside - even when it rains.

We want to build a dedicated Youth Drop-In Centre so that we can have a dedicated space for all our activities. We would also be able to provide vital youth health services, including HIV/AIDS education and reproductive health programmes, which are currently not available in our community.

The new Youth Drop-In Centre will be available for all young people aged between 10 and 24 in our community. We will give them the support they need to take control of their lives and to build a better future for themselves and their families. We will also encourage each young person to join the fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa.

We have identified a piece of land within the slum for the site of the new Centre. The young people are eager to help build it. Will you support them?
